The Carolina Business News Initiative and www.bizjournalismhistory.org are both run by Chris Roush, a professor at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Roush is a former business reporter for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Tampa Tribune, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bloomberg News and BusinessWeek magazine. He was also editor in chief of a company that published financial newsletters and magazines such as Insurance Investor and Thrift Investor.
Roush is a lead trainer for the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism and the administrator of the Talking Biz News blog.
Roush is the author of “Show Me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication,” a business reporting textbook published by Lawrence Erlbaum Associates in 2004, and “Profits and Losses: Business Journalism and its Role in Society,” a book published by Marion Street Press in 2006.
